Lviv of Austrian period
Walking tour through the period of “Granny Austria”. Duration: 3 hours.
Walk through the prestigious districts of Lviv that were built when Galicia was a part of the Austro-Hungarian Empire.
In that time, Lviv developed very rapidly, and there were various architectural schools, which left wonderful architectural heritage.
First, the district of “Wall Street” with banks, majestic buildings, and one particular pearl among them is the Diet of Galicia and Lodomeria, the main building of Ivan Franko National University of Lviv. During the tour, tourists will have the opportunity to visit Potocki Palace and Gentry Casino. Currently, in Potocki Palace you may observe such expositions as "European art of the 14 and 18 centuries" and "Interiors" of the Lviv Art Gallery, the richest museum in Ukraine. Gentry Casino is the building that combines the latest construction work of the early 20-century and a refined interior: transparent ceilings with daylight, beautiful oak staircases, and marble fireplaces.
Here were filmed "The Three Musketeers" - the interior of the palace of Cardinal Richelieu, and dozens of other feature films.
The tour also includes central squares of Lviv (square of Adam Mickiewicz, square of Jesus Mother) and Lviv Korzo (prospectus of T. Shevchenko) – the place where citizens promenade.
