Feofania is a picturesque area in the southern outskirts of Kiev. There are holy springs, a cascade of lakes and mighty oak groves in the vicinity of the famous Orthodox nunnery. More than a century ago a little monastery farm was founded not far from the suburban residence where the bishop stayed in summer.
St. Panteleymon Cathedral (1905 –1912) – one of the grandest monastery temples in Kiev — is decoration of the Monastery. Pirogovo Open-Air Museum of Folk Architecture and Life
If you appear on picturesque space of the museum occupying 150 hectare territory where more than 300 objects of olden time from all regions of Ukraine are settled down, you’ll move back to the past literally. Ancient country houses and churches 16-17 items were collected in various regions of Ukraine, delivered in the museum and restored. Huts, wooden churches, water and wind mills, also clothes, kitchen utensils dating back to the period of 17th beginning of the 20th century give to every visitor a realistic impression of the travel in time.
